Rustynuts Fabrication X Chassis Fiberglass Hood

These hoods are designed specifically for the Hendrix Motorsports X Chassis.  However, they can easily be adapted to any tube chassis crawler.  They have been made slightly over sized to allow for a universal fit and can be trimmed to suit your needs. The sides and front taper outward to accomodate those that like the "over the tube" look and can be trimmed to fit for those that prefer the "on top of the tube" look with a lower profile. The added height helps to accommodate those that need to clear tall air cleaners and/or shock mount designs. It is made with high grade resins as well as Core Mat in conjunction with fiberglass to produce a lightweight, durable, and semi flexible hood. Being semi flexible allows the hood to be raised up another 1.5" at the rear for added height for those that may need it. There are no specific accomodations for hood mounting as there are so many custom setups. This is left up to the fabricator. The hood shown is on a shortened X Chassis which gives it a longer appearance.

They are made with high grade resins as well as Core Mat in conjunction with fiberglass to produce a lightweight, durable, and semi flexible hood.  The last photo is a close up of the underside.  This is the special cellulose mat used in conjunction with high performance resins which allows for a stronger, lighter product.  Resists cracking and fractures from heat, vibration, etc much better than typical fiberglass most commonly used.
